Global Student Forum group

April 27th, 2012
Well done to our fabulous GSF group who organised another successful soup lunch on Friday 27th April. We raised approximately £150 towards our goal of £1,174 to equip a maternity ward in the developing world.
Earlier this week some of the GSF group gave a brilliant workshop to the P7 class of Borestone primary school to help raise awareness of the issue of maternal mortality.
Our soup lunch is the last event from our first ever GSF group at Bannockburn High and we would like to thank them for all their inspiration, hardwork and enthusiasm. They have been a credit to our school and will be missed. We send them best wishes for their exams and as they move on to start the next exciting chapter in their lives.

Bannockburn’s Fundraising Success!

March 30th, 2012
Well done to everyone at Bannockburn High who raised lots of money for the GSF Dying for Life campaign. The total from the form class fund raising challenge was over £500 and will be used to purchase delivery kits, training, safe water and hygiene kits etc. Each class organised different activities including a bake sale, sponsored pyjama wearing and silver coin collection to help boost the total.

We also held a bake sale in the staff room on Friday and raised over £150. This money will also go to support mothers across the world by being added to our target amount of £1,174 to kit out a delivery ward in the developing world.

Together we can make a difference Bannockburn! Thank you :)

Global Student Forum

November 21st, 2011

Members of the School’s Global Student Forum (GSF) Group attended the recent S5/6 parents evening held within the school. The pupils ran a stand giving them the opportunity to inform parents and senior pupils about our “Dying for Life” campaign.

One of the GSF group’s goals is to engage with 20,000 people in our community about the UN Millennium Development Goal of reducing maternal mortality by 75% by 2015. Look out for the GSF stand at future parent’s evenings and other school events.
