S5-S6 Higher
Entry to the Course.
This is at the discretion of the school, however, you would normally need to
have attained an appropriate grade at General/Credit level History, or another
social subject, in order to progress on to Higher.
Course Outline.
The course consists of three 40 hour units plus 40 hours of flexible study
time.

Unit 1 – Britain, 1850’s – 1979.

Unit 2 – The Large Scale State, Russia.

Unit 3 – Appeasement and the Road to War.
Assessment.
Assessment is done through three official internal unit assessments (NAB’s),
and an external Extended Response (Essay) and a final exam.
