Course Description
The course is made up of 3 units:
Unit 1: Holiday Planning

This unit is all about what you have to do when PLANNING a holiday. It is
split into 7 sections:
- a) Sources of Information
- b) Types of Destinations
- c) Methods of Travel
- d) Preparing to Book
- e) Types of Brochures
- f) Booking Exercise
- g) Complex Booking Issues
Unit 2: Holiday Issues

This unit is about dealing with any issues that could arise before, during
or after your holiday. It also looks at the impact of tourism in the host
area. There are three sections:
- a) Pre-departure arrangements
- b) Coping with Issues
- c) Impact of Tourism
- For this unit, you are expected to do two projects – these are to be used
as case studies for your exam.
Unit 3: Tourist Destinations
- This unit looks at all the different types of holiday destinations –
both within the UK, in Europe and the world.

For this unit, you are expected to do two projects – these are to be used as
case studies for your exam.
Assessment
The three units will be internally assessed using ‘exam’ type questions.
The final exam lasts 1 hour 15 minutes. For the final exam, you have to
know your case studies in detail.
