Entry to the Course.
Entry Level Standard Grade 1-2
Course Description
The course comprises three 40 hour units:-
- Unit One : Language study
- Close reading of non-fiction texts and the writing of an essay in a chosen genre
- Unit Two : Literary Study
- The study of drama, poetry and prose
- Unit Three : Personal Study
- The Study of a topic of personal interest from eg. literature, language, media etc.
Assessment
Assessment will be both internal, at the end of each unit, and external,
with a 3 hour written exam at the end of the course.

Courses in English and Communication
Higher English is usually a compulsory requirement for University and
College courses.
