Aims
Business Management aims to develop skills and knowledge in students which will allow them to access, understand and contribute to the dynamic and complex business and information environment.

Content

    Area of Study 1 - What is a business?
    Area of Study 2 - How do businesses develop and perform?
    Area of Study 3 - What resources do businesses use?
    Area of Study 4 - How are businesses managed?

The course provides opportunities for pupils to acquire skills and confidence in the use of information technology, to handle, present and interpret data in realistic business contexts.

Assessment
Pupils will be examined by a system common to all levels.

There are 3 assessable elements:

    1 Knowledge and Understanding
  • – externally assessed written paper
    2 Decision Making
  • - externally assessed written paper
    3 Practical Abilities
  • - internally assessed

The Business Management Standard Grade course provides clear progression to Intermediate and Higher courses in Business Management.
