Standard Grade Biology grades 1 or 2
Course Description
Higher Biology is a continuation of the Standard Grade Course with some
topics dealt with in greater depth. There are also new areas of study.
There are 3 units.
- Unit 1 Cell Biology
-
Unit 2 Genetics and Adaptation
-
Unit 3 Control and Regulation
Assessment 1
Unit assessment – internally assessed.
Each unit has three learning outcomes :
- 1 Knowledge and Understanding (KU)
-
2 Problem Solving (PS)
-
3 Practical Abilities
Outcomes 1 and 2 are assessed internally by End of Unit Tests (Nabs tests).
These tests must be passed.
