Aims
To provide an appreciation of the importance of Biology in our lives, of the
job opportunities and of the associated leisure activities.
Content
The study, by scientific method and experimentation, of living organisms
(plants, animals and humans), their interactions and relationship to the
environment. Health care, environmental management and technology are also
covered. The course provides the opportunity to use ICT.
Seven topics covered are:

Assessment
The elements covered are Knowledge and Understanding, Problem Solving and
Practical Abilities. Knowledge and Understanding and Problem Solving are
assessed internally by end of topic tests and by external examination.
Practical abilities are assessed by a series of practical tests and
investigations.
