Scottish Parliament Visit

A number of S4 pupils visited the Scottish Parliament last Thursday. After looking round the (expensive) shop, we proceeded to the public gallery of the Debating Chamber to view First Minister’s Question Time.

                       Inside the Parliament

Much to our amusement MSPs shouted, cheered and banged their fists as questions were asked and answered. Afterwards we were met by Bruce Crawford, our constituency MSP, who gave us a guided tour of the Parliament.

We were shown around offices and committee rooms, some even got to sit in the contemplation pods. Bruce Crawford pointed out other amazing architectural features of the building as well as this we witnessed a Scothedge protest taking place outside and spoke to Iain Gray, leader of Scottish Labour. In typical Scottish tradition it began to pour with rain as we piled back onto the bus.
