Romeo & Juliet Workshop
On Wednesday 7th October, 36 Bannockburn High senior pupils travelled to
Cumbernauld Theatre to participate in a Shakespeare workshop. This fun and
informative event was aimed at increasing the overall understanding of
Shakespeare’s play, his language, stage directions as well as to help us
complete essays and our Higher English exam. The event was a great success.
Did you know that Shakespeare’s plays were performed in
daylight regardless
of the weather? Therefore his characters had to make reference to
what time
of day it was so their audience could imagine the scene:
“Thou knowest the mask of night is on my face,
Else would a maiden blush bepaint my cheek…” (Act 2:2)
