Amnesty International
Bannockburn High’s Amnesty International Group meets every Thursday lunchtime in room 320.
Amnesty is a charitable organisation which campaigns against
human rights violations around the world.
Some campaigns we are currently involved in are:
Burma
Shell
End the death penalty
Save Troy Davis
Stop Violence Against Women
The group actively support campaigns by promoting human rights
issues within school, writing letters to government officials,
signing petitions and fundraising.
There are four main Amnesty events in our school calendar each
year:
Second hand book sale in March (usually World Book Day)
Amnesty Party in October
Amnestea for staff in December (new event for 2010)
White Ribbon March in December
All ages welcome to join us. For more information speak to Mrs Mackay.
