Transport Arrangements

Stirling Council has a policy of providing free transport to pupils who live more than two miles from the school.  This policy is more generous than the legal requirement.

Pupils who live in Plean and Cowie and the surrounding area who meet this stipulation are provided with season tickets.  Travel to school using these season tickets can be on specific contract vehicles or normal service buses.

In the morning buses are scheduled as follows :

    Cowie  -  Depart 8.25 a.m.
    Plean   -  Depart 8.30 a.m.

At the close of school, buses are contracted to be at the school at 3.35 p.m. leaving at 3.40 p.m. for Cowie and Plean.  One bus travels to Plean, one bus travels to Cowie and one the Plean and Cowie.

Season Tickets must be returned to school when the pupil leaves the school.  Lost tickets will be replaced by the bus company at a replacement cost of £3.

It is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the child behaves in a safe and acceptable manner on the buses at all times.  Misbehaviour may lead to the child being banned from using public transport and it is the legal duty of the parent to ensure that the pupil attends school.

In circumstances where a child has Special Needs, Stirling Council may provide alternative transport to school.
