Staff Retiral
Last Friday marked the end of an era with staff, past and present, coming
together to celebrate the retirement of Mr Brian Walker. Mr Walker moved to
Bannockburn High School in December 1990 as Assistant Head Teacher, having
been Principal Teacher of Modern Languages in Cumbernauld High School. More
recently he has been Depute Head and also took on the role of Acting Head
Teacher during Mr McAlpine’s secondment to Viewforth. Mr Walker is regarded
in the highest esteem by staff, pupils and parents and his enigmatic and
inspiring approach to education has ensured that he will be a hard act to
follow. Mr Walker set the highest of standards with M+, displayed excellent
communication and interpersonal skills with the PSA Prize Draw and always
demonstrated a general passion and enthusiasm for the education of the young
people in his care. We wish Mr Walker a long, happy, healthy and fulfilling
retirement.
P7 Visit
P7 pupils from the surrounding primaries visited the school last Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday. During this time they met with their new classes,
teachers and generally familiarised themselves with the school before the
permanent move in August. They rounded their visit off with a fantastic, fun
filled sports festival.
