Cabaret

The school hosted a cabaret evening last Wednesday in the Social Area, where around 60 past and present pupils and staff performed musical items from the past 7 school shows, including Grease, Little Shop of Horrors and Summer Holiday and the Glee Club, ‘New Rhythmics’, performed 4 numbers including Don’t Stop Believing and Somebody to Love. Over 100 people filled the social area for what was a fantastic night that showcased the talent of all involved.

Prom

Last Friday 11th June, the class of 2009/10 celebrated their last few hours together in style at the Inchyra Grange Hotel for their Prom. The girls looked stunning in their dresses and the boys were all very handsome in their kilts and smart suits. It was great to see that everyone had made such an effort. Pupils and staff were then seated for a wonderful three-course meal, which was truly first class. We all felt truly stuffed after desert but still had room to show some moves on the dance floor. It is fair to say that everybody danced the night away with the combination of traditional ceilidh music and disco providing the entertainment to suit all tastes. The night came to a close in traditional style with everyone linking arms and belting out Auld Lang Syne. In a true display of camaraderie the whole of the sixth year travelled home together in a great end to a fabulous night.

P7 Visit

Approximately 110 P7 pupils will visit the school next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. During this time they will meet with their new classes, teachers and generally familiarise themselves with the school before the permanent move in August.

School Closure

The Scottish Government has agreed to an extra closure day of Tuesday 17th August to allow staff to return to the main building after the refurbishment and set up for term 2010/2011. This means that pupils at Bannockburn High will now return to school on Wednesday 18th August after the summer break.

Invitation To Parents

All parents of incoming First Year pupils are warmly invited to a “Surgery for Parents” to be held in the school Library on Thursday 17 June. Parents may drop in at any time between 3.30 -6.00 p.m. Parents of existing pupils and members of senior staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
