The Senior Awards Ceremony
It is one of the most significant events on the school calendar, marking as
it does the culmination of the efforts of pupils and staff together, to
strive to achieve further and higher goals. This years ceremony took place
last Wednesday evening and was indeed a memorable occasion. The Rector spoke
about the recent successful visit by HMIe, the refurbishment and staffing
issues.
The Glee Group performed ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ before Mrs Sheena Moir,
former Medical Attendant presented the awards to the senior pupils and
finally the Dux medal was presented by Mr McAlpine to Malcolm Denovan.
S3 Parent Teacher Interviews
The S3 Parents Evening will be take place on Wednesday 5th May between
4.15pm and 6.45pm. Reports and appointment sheets have been posted and
pupils should have made appointments with appropriate members of staff.
SQA Examinations
The SQA exams begin next week for S4 pupils. The timetable will be suspended
from Wednesday 28th May. Pupils should only attend school for examinations
or where they have arranged to meet with a specific member of staff.
Easter Card Competition
The winners of the "Design an Easter Card" competition for S1 pupils, held
in the IT Department are as follow. 1st Eilidh Young, 1W3, 2nd Ryan
Phipps-Kenny, 1W2, 3rd Shona Ferguson, 1S1. House points will be awarded to
Wallace House and Stuart House.
May Holiday & In Service
The school will be closed to all pupils next Monday and Tuesday for the May
holiday and staff development day and will reopen at 8.55am on Wednesday 5th
May.
