S2 Parents Evening
The S2 parents night takes place next Monday (8th) from 4.15pm – 6.45pm.
Pupils should have made appointments with the appropriate members of staff.
This will provide a valuable opportunity to discuss the progress and
capabilities of pupils before they complete their final subject choice forms
for their S3/4 course.
Pupil Exhibits Work
S6 pupil David Rae, has had his Product Design coursework folio for session
2008/09 displayed in the ‘Product Design - First Steps’ exhibition at the
Glasgow School of Art. David was one of only 10 pupils from across Scotland
selected by the SQA and School of Art team to have their work professionally
mounted and exhibited in the Atrium Gallery, located in the Art School’s
Foulis Building. David’s brief was to design street furniture for the iconic
Charles Rennie MacIntosh building. With creativity and skill David’s design
of a bin for recycling waste was considered by the judging team to be
“thoughtful, detailed and ambitious”. A huge congratulations to David from
all at Bannockburn High. If you would like to view the exhibition, it will
run from the 25th February until the 9th March 2010 at the Glasgow School of
Art Atrium Gallery, 158 Renfrew Street, Glasgow.
London - February 2010
An excellent time was had by all who participated in the excursion to London
during the February break. Pupils from the Higher Modern Studies and Music
classes experienced a trip to Parliament, two West End musicals – ‘Sister
Act’ and ‘Wicked’ and had some recreational time to visit Madame Tussauds
and Harrods.
London – May 2010
A reminder to parents and carers that pupils taking part in the trip, can
make payments, at any time between now and the end of March to Mrs Millar in
Room 104. Further information regarding a Parents Night will be issued in
due course.

The School’s Amnesty Group is once again holding their annual Second-hand

International. This will take place during lunch times in the Social Area on
Thursday 4th and Friday 5th March. Pupils of the school are invited to come
along and pick up a bargain or two. Books will cost as little as 50p. If any
pupils have books at home they would like to donate to the Sale, please hand

High for Sara. She will be based in the Modern Languages Department, but
will no doubt appear in other areas of the school as she observes Scottish
