Rector’s Newsletter
The Rector issued his newsletter for November last week, outlining important
information for the forthcoming weeks. Items included recent fundraising
activities, timetable for S4 prelims, PSA Prize Draw and the extra
curricular activities taking place in PE. Anyone who did not receive a copy

S5/6 Parent Teacher Interviews
The parents’ evening is scheduled to take place on Monday 16th November
between 4.15pm and 6.45pm. Pupils have been issued with appointment sheets
and should make appointments where appropriate.
RAF Visit
The Maths department has organised for the RAF to visit the school. The
officers will deliver workshops to S3 pupils and will involve them working
in collaborative groups whilst undertaking activities from across a number
of curricular areas.
Skills Scotland Careers Event
Pupils in S4 and S5 attended the biggest interactive careers and skills
event on Wednesday 4th November at the SECC. Many of the activities were
hands-on so pupils got the chance to try out different activities including
cake decorating, printing, slate cutting, fitness and much more. With over
50 different organisations attending pupils had the opportunity to talk to
employers about options for the future.
Anne McGuire Visit
Anne McGuire, MP, visited the school last Friday to speak with S4 pupils on
the life and work of an MP, as part of their Standard Grade Modern Studies
course. Anne McGuire outlined what the role of an MP entails and pupils were
given the opportunity to ask questions about her lifestyle whilst working in
the House of Commons, the demands of constituency work and her opinions on
current political, social and international issues.

Tickets will go on sale Monday 16th November priced £6 for adults, £4 for
children and £18 for a family ticket.
