Romeo & Juliet Workshop
On Wednesday 7th October, 36 Bannockburn High senior pupils travelled to
Cumbernauld Theatre to participate in a Shakespeare workshop. This fun and
informative event was aimed at increasing the overall understanding of
Shakespeare’s play, his language, stage directions as well as to help us
complete essays and our Higher English exam. The event was a great success.
‘We Will Rock You’
The Music Department is organising a trip to see ‘We Will Rock You’ at the
Edinburgh Playhouse on Monday 14th December. The cost, including transport,
is £20. A deposit of £10 should be returned to Mr Thomson in the Music
Department should you wish your child to be considered for this excursion.

School Show - ‘Grease’
Rehearsals are under way for the forthcoming school show. The show will take
place in the school lecture theatre on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th
December 2009. Tickets will be available in due course.
Amnesty Fundraiser
The school’s Amnesty International Group will be collecting old mobile
phones to recycle. The phones can be in any state of repair – Amnesty will
receive £5 for each. If you have an old phone at home, please help us by
bringing it along to Room 308 (Mrs Mackay) or bring it along at lunch time
to our Amnesty Party on Friday 30th in the lecture theatre.

Scottish Parliament Visit
Standard Grade Modern Studies pupils will travel to Edinburgh tomorrow where
they will be given a tour of the Scottish Parliament by Bruce Crawford MSP
and then have the opportunity to watch First Ministers’ Question Time.
S4 Parent-Teacher Interviews
The S4 parents’ evening will take place tonight in school between 4.15pm and
6.45pm. Pupils should have arranged interviews with teachers in advance.
