London Trip
39 pupils and staff returned to school last week following their recent trip
to London. The group travelled by train on Wednesday 27th to Kings Cross and
stayed for two nights in the Travelodge, London Southwark. The hotel was
very close to the Underground station, so was extremely handy for travelling
round the city.
Once unpacked the group headed for the London Eye and were very lucky to
have a clear day and could see as far as the Wembley Arches. From the London
Eye, they travelled along Parliament Street, passing Downing Street and
Horseguards Parade, heading for Trafalgar Square. To round off a great first
day the group watched ‘Oliver’ at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which was
outstanding.
Day two started with a tour of London aboard an open- top bus and due to
beautiful weather, this was a great experience, passing Hyde Park, Madame
Tussaud’s, Tower of London and a variety of other top attractions. The group
then relaxed for lunch on a Thames Cruise before heading for some retail
therapy in Hamley’s. Evening entertainment was provided at the Dominion
Theatre with ‘We Will Rock You’ which everyone described as amazing. Friday
saw the group return to Stirling by train having had a fun filled, busy two
days.
