Fairtrade
Fairtrade went extremely well thanks to the hard work of pupils and staff.
The fair trade team got together to report on how everything went.
Competitions -
For Fairtrade week we organised several competitions to raise money for new
fair-trade footballs for the school. The lucky dip was 10p a go and gave
pupils a chance to win geobars, bananas, chocolate bars, hot chocolate and
cereal bars. We also organised a staff raffle! Lots of pupils were lucky
enough to win prizes and Miss Roscoe was the lucky winner of the fairtrade
goodybag for the staff raffle. In total we raised £79.93

Sales stall - We organised a sales stall with lots of Fairtrade products
from the Fairtrade shop Fairtradewinds to show people that there are loads
of products out there with the fair trade mark. Our stock ranged from
scarves to chocolate, bracelets to bags and much much more. On Friday 6th
March we were open for pupils to buy Fairtrade products. Lots of people came
to support and as a result we made £276 pounds!

Taster Stall - We were in charge of the taster stall for the fairtrade
group. It was a huge success and most of our tasters vanished very quickly.
We had tasters of exotic fruits, chocolate, fruit juice and smoothies
throughout the week. It would not have been such a success if it was not for
the help from Tesco, Co- op and Morrisons.

Kean, Nadine Fowler and Abigail McIntosh)
We were also lucky enough to have a talk from Towera Jalakasi a producer who
supports Fairtrade to start off our Fairtrade week which provided us with
some first hand experiences of how Fairtrade helps local communities. We
also had a visit from Brian Baker who took first years through a fair trade
workshop looking at different products and where they had come from. All in
all a great success thank you to everyone involved.
