Macmillan Caner Relief Day

The school raised a fantastic sum of money before the October break of £1058.00. This was raised through a Staff/Senior Pupil Coffee morning and a non-uniform day. Thanks to the Charities Committee for organising the event.

Advanced Higher Geography

Advanced Higher Geography students and their teacher embarked on an exciting trip to Kindrogen Field Centre recently. Here they took part in an intensive fieldwork course to enhance their knowledge as part of the course. They were involved in analysing plants and soil along a slope transect, collecting and collating data from two river sites and identifying features of past glaciations through geomorphological mapping. Despite the horrendous weather, watterlogging of wellies and cold shoulders the trip proved extremely beneficial to all involved. It was an excellent way to develop fieldwork skills and techniques and provided an opportunity to meet other pupils from various schools across Scotland studying the same things. The advance higher students now have the skills to complete their own individual projects thanks to their enlightening Kindrogen experience!

Interhouse

S2 Interhouse Event took place last Tuesday. The results were as follows -
Fitness: Wallace – 100, Stuart – 0 and Bruce 80. The pupil achievement award went to Garry Conway of Bruce House.

Synchronized Swimming: Wallace – 50, Stuart – 100 and Bruce – 30. The pupil achievement award went Briony Rougvie of Stuart house.

Badminton: Wallace – 50 points – Fraser Mills, Stuart - 30 points – Iona Kimmett/Matti Nowak and Bruce - 100 points – James Addison. The pupil achievement award went to Martin Valentine of Wallace House.

Unfortunately the rugby had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions. All rugby participants took part in a quiz and a fitness challenge and conducted themselves exceptionally. Therefore it was decided that every pupil who picked rugby will be awarded 5 points for their house. This added the following Stuart – 45 points, Bruce - 70 points and Wallace – 60 points.

Total so far are Stuart, 175, Wallace 350 and Bruce 350.
