Welcome Back
Pupils were welcomed back to school at a series of
assemblies conducted by the Rector, Mr McAlpine and other members of the
Senior Management Team last week where the priorities for the term ahead
were set out.
Staffing News
As last year there are a number of new faces joining the staff at this time.
A warm welcome is extended to Mr Buchananan (Technical), Mr Sander (PE) Ms
Stewart (RE). We also note the temporary appointments of Ms Gentles, Mr
Robertson, Mrs Dowds and Mrs Joyce to the ASN department.
There were also three retirements at the end of last session with Mrs
Kennedy of the History Department, Mrs Baillie the school librarian and Mr
Jodeluk of the Geography department leaving the school after a number of
years. We would like to wish them all a long and enjoyable retirement.
Edinburgh Book Festival
On Monday a number of S2 pupils from the English
Department were given the opportunity to go to the Edinburgh Book Festival
to meet and listen to various authors talking about their recent work. A

September Holiday
The school will be closed on Monday 8th September and will reopen to pupils
on Tuesday 9th at 8.55am.
