the elimination of Muscular Distrophy. The hair- shaving/leg waxing money will
go to a project in Malawi. Friday will also be a non-uniform day.

Senior Football
The Senior boys were victorious over Grangemouth High last Thursday, winning
7 – 1. The goal scorers were Frankie Kane, Gary Currie, Jordan Traynor, Gavin
Nicol and Kenny Govan. Congratulations to all the boys taking part.
Senior Rugby
Bannockburn played a ferocious game against Stirling High last Wednesday,
beating the bigger school 21-17 to advance to the Central Schools Bowl Final
next week. The Bannockburn pack played with great aggression, highlighted in
particular by Kieran Penny and Stephen McDuff winning rucks and making covering
tackles all over the field. Tries were scored by Scott Headley, who was soon
taken off injured, Andrew Kimmitt and Kyle Dalziel, with three conversions by
Robert Kimmitt. Men of the Match were Steven Watt, for his destructive runs and
David Heggie, who stepped up from full-back to fill in at stand-off for the
injured Scott. It was also announced that Karl Duffey had been voted Player of
the Year. The school also played a very tough, determined defensive game against
Central Schools’ Cup tournament favourites Alva Academy on Wednesday 19th,
ultimately losing the game 52-0. The scoreline does not reflect the fierce level
of performance the boys put in against one of the best teams in the country, a
performance exemplified by the likes of Ross Cowie using his speed to thwart
brawny Alva attacks, James O'Hare using his power to great effect and new player
Fraser Anderson winning Man of the Match for some devastating tackles out on the
wing.
