Fairtrade Week
Preparations are underway for the Fairtrade Week which takes place in the
school between the 3th and 7th March. The purpose of the week is to raise
awareness of the Fairtrade movement which is working to improve terms and
conditions for producers in many countries. Events to look forward to include a
tasting stall in the social area during morning intervals (including free
samples of chocolate and other Fairtrade products), a raffle, competitions,
special themed lessons, and workshops with a Fairtrade producer from Africa.

S2 Pupil Support Interviews
Interviews between S2 pupils and Pupil Support teachers have been taking
place this week. These interviews provide an opportunity for pupils to discuss
their reports, which will be issued to parents and carers in due course, and to
discuss the options available as pupils move from S2 to S3.
S5/6 Reports
The S5/6 reports have been completed by staff this week and will be sent out
to parents and carers in due course.
S2 Parent-Teacher Evening
Pupils should be making appointments with staff for the parents evening
which will take place next Wednesday between 4.15pm and 6.45pm.
Rector's Newsletter
The Rector’s newsletter was issued last week to parents and carers outlining
information about activities taking place in the school this term. Further

Sainsbury's Vouchers
The PE department are now collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers for sporting
equipment. Please hand any vouchers to the PE department.
Readathon/World Book Day
Pupils in S1, S2 and S3 will be taking part in Readathon again this year to
celebrate World Book Day (March 6th).
Transition P7 Story Teller Visit
The English Department welcomed storyteller Ewan McVicar and P7 pupils from
our associated primaries to the school yesterday. There were two sessions where
pupils heard Ewan read and pupils from our current S1 were invited to assist
with the event.
