Bannockburn's Got Talent
Rehearsals are under way for those acts selected for ‘Bannockburn’s Got
Talent’, including singers, dancers, comedians and gymnasts. The talent show
will take place in the school lecture theatre on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday
3rd October at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £4 and can be purchased from Miss
Allardyce in room 202 during lunchtime this week.
Home Economics Department
Open Night - Visitors to the Home Economics Department took part in a
various challenges. Congratulations to Ryan Campbell, Class 7M, Bannockburn
Primary who received the prize.
Futurechef - A large number of budding chefs attended an information meeting
about Futurechef which is a national competition organised by Springboard UK who
promote the Hospitality Profession. For the school heat pupils need to choose
and prepare a hot main course dish for 2 people costing less than £3.50.
Website of the Month - S3 Hospitality pupils have been researching and
evaluating Food Safety websites for homework. This was sponsored by Pizza Hut
and the winning evaluation was completed by Emily McMorland, 3B2
World's Biggest Coffee Morning
The school will be taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning on
Friday 5th October in support of MacMillan Cancer Relief. Last year the school
raised over £1200 for the charity and are hoping to do the same this year.
Inter House Competition
S1 and S2 participated in the first inter house activities of the term. The
results are as follows –
S1
Fun Run Winners - Connor Donegan(Bruce), Ashleigh Russell(Bruce), Best
costume - Alexander Gordon and best effort - Alex Gow and Charmaine Stretton.
The winners of the Rugby were Wallace and player of the day was awarded to
Stuart Govan also of Wallace House.
The winners of the individual Fitness competition were Beth Baxter (Bruce),
Roslyn Ivatt (Bruce) and Samantha Crombie (Wallace).
The winners of the Bench ball competition were Stuart with the Players of
the day being Logan Mcguigan (Stuart) and Jennifer Muir (Bruce).
After the event Bruce were awarded 130 points, Wallace, 50 points and
Stuart, 40 points.
The running total this year is Wallace 160 points, Bruce 230 points and
Stuart 50 points
S2
Rugby winners, Wallace with player of the match being Shane Hunter for
Stuart house.
The winners of the Water Polo were also Wallace, with players of the match
being Steven Bryce (Bruce) and Heather Whyte (Wallace).
The Basketball was won, again by a team from Wallace house and the player of
the match was Jeffrey Cheng (Wallace).
The Fitness Factory winners were Mark Milne (Bruce), Stephen McKay (Bruce)
and Sarah Scotland (Bruce).
Overall winners were Wallace with 110 points, followed by Bruce with 40
points and Stuart with 10 points.
