Bannockburn's Got Talent
Rehearsals are under way for those acts selected for ‘Bannockburn’s Got
Talent’, including singers, dancers, comedians and gymnasts. The talent show
will take place in the school lecture theatre on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday
3rd October at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £4 and can be purchased from room
202 at lunchtime from Monday 24th September.
P7 Open Night
The school held a very successful open evening on Monday night with a high
turnout of Primary 7 pupils and parents attending. Thanks also to staff and
Bannockburn High pupils who attended the event, ensuring that all attending
enjoyed their visit.
Staff Farewell
The school said goodbye this week to one of its most popular members of
staff with both pupils and staff alike. Mrs Moir, School Medical Attendant,
retired after a lengthy 31 years service at Bannockburn High School. We would
like to wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
Tesco Vouchers
The PE department are collecting Tesco Vouchers for Schools. Pupils should
hand them into the PE base.
S1 Boys Football
The S1 boys team played against Airdrie’s St Margaret’s High and held out
1-0 until the last ten minutes when unluckily conceded another 2 goals. Despite
the 3-0 defeat the team played very well.
S3 Boys Football
The S3 Boys played two matches in two days last week against Graeme High and
Alva Academy. Colin McLaughlin (S3) reports back:
Graeme High – The game had a lively atmosphere and very competitive play. It
finished with a 2-2 draw with Graeme High lucky to escape a penalty in the last
few minutes. Ryan Caw and Alistair McPherson scored the two goals and Calum
McCormack was easily the man of the match.
Alva Academy – Bannockburn travelled to Alva’s park for a rough and challenging
game. It ended 5-0 to Alva although Bannockburn put in a strong performance they
were not able to make any chances.
