Comic Relief 2007
The school was a hive of activity last week making an enormous effort to raise
funds for Comic Relief. Various events took place over the course of the week
with a Jukebox in the Social Area at intervals and lunchtimes.
Pupils and staff
were also invited to guess the number of sweets in the jar – congratulations to
Ms Leckenby of the Geography department who guessed the exact answer of 174.
Friday saw the last big push to raise funds with staff holding a coffee morning
and pupils and staff participating in a non-uniform day with the majority of
people coming to school dressed in red bringing the grand total raised to
£1131.58 .
A special thank you to the Charities Committee for all their hard work during
the week, plans are now well underway for the final fund raising event which
will take place during the last week of term before Easter.
London 2007
A reminder to parents and carers of pupils going to London in May that the
balance of the trip should be paid in full before the end of term (30th March)
to Miss Allardyce in Room 202.
School Office Bearers 2007-2008
Pupils in S6 were interviewed last week for positions of Head Boy and Girl. The
interviews continue this week for the positions of House Captains. All
appointments will be announced on Friday 30th March.
Space School
Congratulations to Mr Timmons of the Physics department who has been chosen to
attend the NASA Space School in Florida in June.
Stirling School Concert
Well done to the pupils who took part in the concert last Sunday evening at the
Albert Hall. The concert was highly successful with pupils from Bannockburn
involved in the orchestra, wind band and vocal ensemble. Congratulations also,
to the two solo performers of the evening who were also Bannockburn pupils,
Anthony Stickings (S2) on guitar and Craig Muirhead (S6) on piano.
