May's newsletter :
Dear Parent/Carer
The Music and PE departments have now moved into the extension and pupils
are able to benefit from the new facilities available.
By early June our History Team will have been resited on the 1st Floor of
the main building where the Music department previously existed.
Stirling Council has committed fully to the refurbishment of the main
building. The main work will start next April. The refurbishment will take
almost 2 years to complete.
Over the next few months work will start on the installation of our new ‘All
Weather’ Sports Facility on the site of the existing red-blaes ash pitches.
Also the total replacement of all windows will be undertaken throughout the
school.
If you would like to visit the school to see around the facilities in the
new extension it will be open for viewing on Monday 26th May between 5 –
7pm. Please come along if you can. Car Parking is plentiful.

March's newsletter :
For pupils in Fourth year this holiday period needs to be a time for study
and preparation for the SQA examinations which begin, for them, on Thursday
1st May. This means that after the Spring Holiday there are only 8 school
days before the start of these examinations. Clearly revision and earnest
application by pupils in preparing themselves for the examinations should be
the single greatest priority over the next few weeks.
Pupils in Fifth and Sixth Years start their examinations two weeks later.
For these pupils preparing to undertake SQA Higher and Intermediate
examinations, this is also a time where serious study, revision and effort
is needed in order to come fully prepared for these very important
examinations.

February's newsletter :
There is news about the progress being made on the building and completion
of our new extension. I am also able to inform you that the first phase of
our refurbishment will commence during the summer. This will involve the
replacement of all the windows in the school – a much need improvement and
the installation of a new All-weather Floodlit Sports Facility that will
provide the school and community with first class facilities for year round
use...

December's newsletter :
We are currently looking at improving our procedures to monitor and track
pupil progress throughout the school. These changes could bring adjustments
to our reporting schedule next session. In addition the issue of young
people taking greater responsibility for their own learning is being
considered and staff in all departments will be implementing strategies to
promote Independent Learning. The aims of these developments are to promote
more effective learning and raise achievement.

October's newsletter :
This October newsletter provides you with much information on a variety of
activities which have been taking place in the school in recent weeks. It also
provides you with an outline calendar for this term. As we move towards winter,
the demands made of our young people in S4, S5 and S6 to prepare for external
examinations increase.
Preliminary Examinations for S4 pupils take place in November / December and for
S5/6 in January / February. These all require continuous, diligent preparation
for many weeks in advance if success is to be achieved. So this is a time to
ensure that at home, preparation for these examinations is prioritised to
complement the work and effort being made in school.
August's newsletter :
This first newsletter of the session provides you with information about
activities and events that will take place in the school during the course of
the 2007 – 2008 school session.
