Sumdog

The Numeracy SIG are please to announce the Bannockburn High School were the over all winners of the Stirling Council sumdog.com competition.

We were the daily winners for Monday (you could only be one daily winner – we came top, 4 out of the 5 days). Also we managed to overtake the leader board, with all the top ten pupils in the competition coming form Bannockburn High. The pupils in the top ten will receive certificates form sumdog.com but we are not expecting them until next year and are hoping to give them out at the next house assemblies.

The school won £1000 of Maths software, including a whole-school subscription to Sumdog.com, and site licenses for Yenka Mathematics and Absorb Mathematics.

There were several students who excelled in playing the games for us. One star in particular was Callum Brown of 2B1 who managed to achieve a score of over 12000 which was 3000 points clear of the person in second place. The top 6 pupils in each year will receive a certificate for excellent contributions to the school this week. The top ten pupils will receive their sumdog.com certificates next term and will be awarded house points accordingly.
